Position: Nurse Case Manager/Supervisor
Position Summary:
The goal of the nurse case manager is to telephonically guide each client toward independence in their care, thereby motivating a healthful, confident, and timely return to work. Reviews treatment requests for medical necessity and relatedness to the injury for Ohio workers’ compensation case management claims, and develops care plans. Collaborates with the client, employer and physician to ensure all parties are working toward the same successful outcome.

 

Ultimately, this position will become responsible for the oversight and daily operations of the Managed Care Organization (MCO) clinical and vocational rehabilitation functions and employees. The case manager/supervisor will maintain a small case load while learning company processes and procedures until fully trained in the supervisor role. Will routinely monitor quality activities that ensure continued process improvement; perform audit functions; report outcomes, and investigate variances to recommend action steps. Coordinates and leads regular department meetings and training. As a supervisor, this position will need to display leadership attributes, and effectively manage and support members of their team.

 

Reports to Director, Medical Management.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current unrestricted Ohio Registered Nurse Licensure required; Bachelor degree with CCM certification preferred; willingness to pursue CCM required. Previous case management and supervisory experience required. Understanding of Ohio managed care organization services and Ohio workers' compensation knowledge preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required, including attention to detail, problem solving skills, strategic planning and critical thinking abilities.
